THE STRAWBERRIES ARE HERE!

Brian and I played hooky (with my boss' permission) to go pick strawberries this morning at Froberg Farm. Strawberry season just started. We had so much fun picking them! The farm also hosts a local farmer's market - we were able to get some beautiful fresh veggies to take home as well. All in all, a wonderful mid-week date. Take a peek at our haul!

YUMMY! We're planning on sharing, freezing and eating these beauties...

So you must have a freezer full???? Hope you had a strawberry huller! I remember picking tomatoes in a field somewhere near Sacramento -- with "Robby" in tow and before Brian --- and coming home to can over 100 quart jars. I've savored home-grown tomatoes ever since --- congratulations! I only played hookie once - when I was in kindergarten. Never could get up the courage to do it again!

What Mom didn't mention was when I couldn't stop eating strawberries and broke out in hives. Fortunately that was the only time.

Well, our strawberries are nowhere near growing. I don't think they've even blossomed yet, but then I haven't been checking.
